Killgoar Foundation

Killgoar

The Killgoar Foundation was established in 1987 to provide long-term funding for Immaculate Heart of Mary School.  Since 1998, the foundation has provided nearly $1,000,000 in support to the school in the areas of, primarily, tuition assistance, professional staff development, programming and capital projects.

Hearts_and_HandsBuilding the Killgoar Foundation is essential to the future of our school. Though enrollment has declined in recent years, the school remains an important parish ministry that attracts new families and continues to be a critical feeder for Catholic Matching_GiftCentral. Our tradition of academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment is well-known. Without affordable tuition, however, it is an unattainable goal for many families. Strengthening the Killgoar Foundation will mean  tuition assistance for more families in need and lower tuition for all families. Increased annual support from the Killgoar Foundation will help stabilize enrollment and ensure that our school will be here so that future generations can enjoy the lifelong benefits of an IHM education.

Additional Tax Savings Available to Qualified Donors!

Due to recently approved federal legislation, donors aged 70½ or older are once again eligible to contribute up to $100,000 from their IRAs directly to qualified charities without having to pay income tax on the gift.  This legislation provides opportunity for donors to support their diocese, parish and/or favorite charitable organizations at increased levels without tax penalty.  Make your gift today (and through December 31, 2011) and  count your tax savings on April 15!

Questions and Answers

Q: How does the Killgoar Foundation help keep tuition at our school affordable?

A: The Killgoar Foundation is one of three sources of revenue for our school. The other two are tuition/fees and parish funding. The diocese has established guidelines regarding the level of support that parishes should provide to schools, and we are working toward the objectives recommended in the guidelines. As parish funding decreases to meet diocesan guidelines, annual support from the Killgoar Foundation helps fill the gap and prevents significantly increased tuition that would put Catholic education at IHM out of reach for many families.
