Math - adding 3 digit numbers with regrouping (carrying)!  Kids are carrying to the tens and hundreds place!  Next week: Subtracting 3 digit numbers with regrouping across a zero!  Impressive for 2nd grade!!

Reading - Da dunt....da dunt....da dunt!!  Sharks!  We have read some interesting facts about sharks this week in our nonfiction selections.  We talked about captions and photos and are even creating a poster for reasons we should save the sharks.  

English - Antonyms first and then similes.

MAPS testing has concluded for the 2nd graders.  They did an outstanding job!  I was really impressed with their dedication to doing their best!  Scores will be shared with the next report card on February 10th. 

Read, read, read!!  It is very important for children at this age to read often.  A nightly routine before bed is a great way to fit it in.  Reading will only benefit your child in the long run!! 

A good night sleep and a healthy breakfast makes for a super day in 2nd grade!
